Cooling Tower IM - Belgium 2014
A hyperboloid style tower, designed this way because its relatively cheap to construct and strong, the hyperbolic shape of the tower enhances aerodynamic lift as the wind passes over the top, drawing the air through the tower, cooling the water from the nearby power station in the process. The water, once cool pours to the bottom of the tower (straight into the adjacent river in this case!) whilst the warm moist air bellows out of the top. This tower was designed to cool 480,000 gallons of water per minute.
